Le Challenge - Wings

Ooooh! I'm excited about this!
I was so full of ideas when 'wings' was announced on le-challenge last month.
Making a decision was tough!
But I finally decided on this beautiful butterfly embroidery, totally inspired by a picture I saw on pinterest :)

I hadn't done any embroidery for, ooh, about 15 years!! So I had a few little trial runs.

I found an amazing tutorial here to help with my french knots!

I'm so pleased with the way it turned out.

I think I have the embroidery bug now though!!
As if I have time for another hobby!

Off to link up to Le Challenge now :)
I wonder what next months challenge will be????

  1. This is beautiful. I really struggled with French knots when I tried some embroidery a while back but that tutorial makes it really clear - I'm tempted to have another go now! Well done x Jane

  5. Oh wow! You certainly haven't lost your embroidery touch. That is really gorgeous! It's nice that Le Challenge encourages all sorts of crafty skills and maybe allows us to "resurrect" a few we had temporarily moved on from.

  8. Oh it's fantastic :D I've not tried embroidery before, it's sort of on the to-do list and this is really inspiring me to give it a go. I love the flowers, thinking they'd look lovely on a plain grey skirt I've got. Yay thanks!

  11. SO very pretty, isn't embroidery so fun and addicting, you did a magnificent job considering you haven't done anything in 15 years, truly lovely. And isn't that french knot tutorial the best. Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your lovely comment, I second Lucy's about the no-reply, although I did send a reply and have no idea who it goes to, lol.
